RBC Continues US Hiring Spree With Another UBS Team

RBC Wealth Management, part of Royal Bank of Canada, has continued its US recruitment spree with the hire of former UBS team - which has more than $400 million in assets under management - for its Portland, Oregon office. The team, known as Spence Partners, was founded in 1990 by Steven Spence, senior vice president-financial consultant, and has since evolved to comprise eight members. The other members of the team are first vice president-financial consultants Marcia Hull, Christopher Acheson and Chris Klavins, along with senior financial associate Kimberly Chin Muska, senior client associate Lacey Lawson, registered client associate Melanie Graves and client associate Melissa Whitcomb. The team now reports to Richard Sorenson, Portland complex director, who also recently joined RBC from UBS. “Steve and his team are seasoned professionals with an excellent track record and will be a great addition to the firm as we continue to grow,” said Mr Sorenson. RBC Wealth Management has recruited several former UBS teams in the US over recent months. Earlier this month RBC recruited Alan Danielson and Robert Brown as vice-president-financial consultants for its Hunt Valley, Maryland complex. The duo had previously been at UBS’s Baltimore office. Additionally, at the end of March a former UBS team known as the Di Vito Consulting Group, which had $105 million in client assets, joined RBC Wealth Management in Pheonix, Arizona. RBC Wealth Management has approximately $180.8 billion in global assets under management and $410.9 billion in global assets under administration. Internationally, RBC Wealth Management operates across 35 offices in the UK and Ireland, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, the Caribbean, Latin America and North America.
